Coaching College Graduates and High School Students

41% of College  Graduates are employed in jobs that don’t require a college degree. Most companies lack the resources, funds or patience to train those without experience.  If you find yourself wanting to make a change but not knowing where to start, getting professional direction from a business/career coach may be just what you need to help you land your dream job.

High School Student: Only about 1/3 of ACT tested high school graduates selected a college major that is a good fit with their interest, according to the College Choice Report.

It’s important for students to have the information they need to make the best decisions about their future,” said Jon Erickson, ACT president of education and career solutions. “They should be made aware that choosing a college major that reflects their interests will give them a better chance of succeeding and could also contribute to their satisfaction and happiness in school and on the job.”   Students who might be confused about choosing a major need help. Sometimes when confusion sets in they begin to second guess their goals and choices. The comprehensive and individualized high school coaching process helps students identify their talents and interests. Once they discover their strengths, goals and passions, declaring a major and/or career path become clearer. Most students want such assistance. This helps avoid the expense and stress of changing majors, and giving parents peace of mind.
I have developed a three-month plan to help students and college graduates examine their options, strategize, set short and long-term goals, define their talents, optimize their time, learn how to manage current and future transitions and explore academic and career opportunities.
